A MUST for anyone who owns more than 2 live Zep recordings!

Luis Rey does what would seemingly take a lifetime to do - review the hundreds of live Led Zeppelin recordings in existance. Song-by-song breakdown is given, with tape times and titles (if released on LP or CD). Many times Luis gives incidents or happenings in a show that can be used to identify formerly unknown shows that you may have in your collection. Mr Rey is never short on opinion, and his reviews make the book an interesting one just to sit down and read cover-to-cover. This book is absolutely 100% essential to anyone who collects these types of recordings. Using the review can actually save you time and money, too! Recommended!!!! A+++++

A true jewel in the sea of weak Zeppelin books

I have worn out three copies of this book. As a collector of live Zep recordings I use this book constantly. Rey painstakingly summarizes all live recordings available at the time of the books release. He thoroughly describes the recording quality and the performance quality sparing no detail. A few other books have attempted to provide this info but they are superficial and empty by comparison. Rey's book is infinitely superior and a blessing to Zep collectors. Not only are the dates and setlists included but he ranks the available releases both on CD and vinyl. Also included is a complete tour date listing and a breakdown of Zep's entire repertoire and whether or not the songs were played live. A wealth of information with spot on observation.

REQUIRED READING FOR LED ZEPPELIN FANS!

This book is an ABSOLUTE must have for the true Led Zeppelin fan. Led Zeppelin's albums are great but their greatest claim to fame was their live performances. Rey takes the reader on a wonderful journey that focuses on Zeppelin's live performances between 1968-1980. Rey gives a very personal yet professional commentary on a band which accomplished more on the concert stage than any Rock band had previously attempted. I don't agree with all of his reviews but every Zeppelin fan will find this book extremely usefull and highly enjoyable to read. A true delight and a fascinating journey back to a time when it was cool to be in a Rock band.
